?The son of a Government Minister has been arrested for allegedly using obscene language towards police officers as they were conducting a breathalyser exercise on the Priority Bus Route (PBR) Curepe, last Friday. Two of the suspect's friends were also arrested by Traffic Branch police for failing the test. The minister's son was released on his own bail and ordered to appear before a Tunapuna magistrate tomorrow, to answer the charge.

Traffic Branch officers with ASP Naipaul and Sgt Simon pulled over a vehicle in which the minister's son was a passenger. A breath test was conducted on the driver and he was found to be over the alcohol limit. The driver of another vehicle with friends of the minister's son also failed the test. Officers claim that as they were about to arrest one of the drivers, the minister's son allegedly began to "act up," asking the lawmen if they knew who his father is. The man was then arrested along with the two drivers and taken to the Tunapuna Police Station. (AS)
