?A pro­vi­sion­al war­rant has been is­sued for the ar­rest of Amer­i­can, Leon Todd Jones, whom it is be­lieved is hid­ing out in Trinidad.

Jones is want­ed in Yamhill and Linn Coun­ties, Ore­gan, Unit­ed States, for of­fences al­leged­ly com­mit­ted be­tween 1996 and 2001. He is want­ed in the US on charges of rape, bug­gery, se­ri­ous in­de­cen­cy and griev­ous sex­u­al as­sault. The US made the re­quest by is­su­ing the pro­vi­sion­al war­rant, dat­ed Feb­ru­ary 2, 2010.

On March 2, lo­cal po­lice went to ar­rest Jones where he was stay­ing. He was not at home, but the po­lice spoke to his wife. Lat­er that day, a lawyer rep­re­sent­ing him called and in­di­cat­ed that he would sur­ren­der the fol­low­ing day. Jones did not ap­pear the next day but an­oth­er lawyer did. The po­lice have not heard from Jones since their com­mu­ni­ca­tion with his wife and lawyers.
