Gillian Prescott, the wife of State witness Jarvis Mark claimed she received death threats yesterday, a day before her husband is due to reappear in court charged with fraud. In an interview yesterday, Prescott said she was fearful henchmen would kill her and her two-year-old son. She claimed several attempts already were made on their lives. She explained that around 11 am yesterday, a close relative received a call from an anonymous person who advised them to immediately get out of their home on John Jules Trace, Fyzabad. However, Prescott said she had no intention of leaving because she had nowhere to go.
Prescott claimed Mark was betrayed by the police after he accepted the offer to go into the Witness Protection Programme. Mark, who has been in touch with the media after he assisted police in a sting operation, spent 11 days in protective custody with Prescott and their son. Prescott said they went to the safe house on February 20 but were unhappy with the conditions. During their stay, Prescott said Mark documented everything, as he was suspicious of the behaviour of certain police officers.
