Gillian Prescott, the wife of State wit­ness Jarvis Mark claimed she re­ceived death threats yes­ter­day, a day be­fore her hus­band is due to reap­pear in court charged with fraud. In an in­ter­view yes­ter­day, Prescott said she was fear­ful hench­men would kill her and her two-year-old son. She claimed sev­er­al at­tempts al­ready were made on their lives. She ex­plained that around 11 am yes­ter­day, a close rel­a­tive re­ceived a call from an anony­mous per­son who ad­vised them to im­me­di­ate­ly get out of their home on John Jules Trace, Fyz­abad. How­ev­er, Prescott said she had no in­ten­tion of leav­ing be­cause she had nowhere to go.

Prescott claimed Mark was be­trayed by the po­lice af­ter he ac­cept­ed the of­fer to go in­to the Wit­ness Pro­tec­tion Pro­gramme. Mark, who has been in touch with the me­dia af­ter he as­sist­ed po­lice in a sting op­er­a­tion, spent 11 days in pro­tec­tive cus­tody with Prescott and their son. Prescott said they went to the safe house on Feb­ru­ary 20 but were un­hap­py with the con­di­tions. Dur­ing their stay, Prescott said Mark doc­u­ment­ed every­thing, as he was sus­pi­cious of the be­hav­iour of cer­tain po­lice of­fi­cers.
