Despite his presence in T&T, police sources said yesterday they were yet to interview former executive chairman of the Urban Development Corporation of T&T (Udecott) Calder Hart.
The sources also said they were not aware Hart had returned. According to investigators, they were yet to receive instructions from senior officers to interview Hart and record statements from him. Since his return, police said, Hart had not contacted them. Police sources said they were informed Hart was not at his Cascade home for most of yesterday.
They said as soon as they received instructions they would take statements from Hart which might take place this week. Hart arrived in T&T on Saturday night on an American Airlines flight in the company of dismissed Udecott chairman Krishna Bahadoorsingh.
On March 5, Hart was given 24 hours to resign after Prime Minister Patrick Manning met with Attorney General John Jeremie who told him Hart might have a case to answer arising out of the Commission of Enquiry into Udecott and the Construction Sector.
