A prime mur­der sus­pect nurs­ing a gun­shot wound is among four sus­pects held by north­ern di­vi­sion de­tec­tives yes­ter­day af­ter­noon.

Around 4 o'clock a par­ty of of­fi­cers from the St Joseph CID were at Aber­crom­by Street in St Joseph when they spot­ted four men in a car act­ing sus­pi­cious­ly.

Among the of­fi­cers were Sgts Shel­don David, Bas­deo Sinanan, Cpls Egan Reyes and An­don Fran­cis and PC Ger­ard Pon­ti­f­let. The ve­hi­cle was then in­ter­cept­ed and searched dur­ing which a Smith and Wes­son re­volver and 15 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion were dis­cov­ered.

The mur­der sus­pect, po­lice said, was nurs­ing a wound to the right arm. The of­fi­cers were yes­ter­day com­mend­ed for their vig­i­lance by act­ing Se­nior Supt Stephen Ram­sub­hag.
