A 38-year-old man was killed yesterday after he was shot by a gunman at Dibe Road, Long Circular. A report said Moses "Swing Eye" Thomas was standing at Dibe Road around 12.50 pm when a car drove up in front him and a man alighted from the vehicle.
The man opened fire on Thomas who was shot three times about the body. Residents immediately notified the police. He was rushed to the St James Medical Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Sgt A Lawrence, Cpl Grant and PCs Nurse, Selice and Mungroo visited the scene.
Detectives said they are working on a theory that Thomas's death was possibly drug-related. He did not have a criminal record. Up to late yesterday evening, no suspects were apprehended by the police. Homicide officers are continuing investigations. Up to late yesterday the murder toll for the year stood at 342.
