Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) Roger Gas­pard has or­dered an in­quest in­to the death of 15-year-old Matelot Com­mu­ni­ty Col­lege stu­dent Kylie Gar­cia. Gar­cia was stabbed to death on Mon­day evening dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion af­ter school with an­oth­er stu­dent.

Kylie, who was stabbed dur­ing the melee, was tak­en to the To­co Dis­trict Health Cen­tre where she was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival.

Homi­cide of­fi­cers yes­ter­day went to the of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tion and and con­sult­ed with him.

A 17-year-old stu­dent, who had been de­tained af­ter Kylie was stabbed, was re­leased from cus­tody yes­ter­day. Mean­while, Kylie will be laid to rest to­day af­ter a fu­ner­al ser­vice at 1.30 pm at the the Matelot Sev­enth Day Ad­ven­tist Church, San­ta Cruz Street, Matelot.
