Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard has ordered an inquest into the death of 15-year-old Matelot Community College student Kylie Garcia. Garcia was stabbed to death on Monday evening during an altercation after school with another student.
Kylie, who was stabbed during the melee, was taken to the Toco District Health Centre where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Homicide officers yesterday went to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution and and consulted with him.
A 17-year-old student, who had been detained after Kylie was stabbed, was released from custody yesterday. Meanwhile, Kylie will be laid to rest today after a funeral service at 1.30 pm at the the Matelot Seventh Day Adventist Church, Santa Cruz Street, Matelot.
