Come­di­enne Rachel Price yes­ter­day plead­ed "not guilty" to as­sault­ing a teacher and us­ing ob­scene lan­guage when she ap­peared be­fore a Port-of-Spain mag­is­trate yes­ter­day. It was no laugh­ing mat­ter for the en­ter­tain­er when she stood be­fore Se­nior Mag­is­trate Lu­ci­na Car­de­nas-Ra­goo­nanan in the Fourth (A) Court. She was re­leased on $10,000 own bail which she had se­cured from a Jus­tice of the Peace while in po­lice cus­tody on Fri­day.

The 36-year-old, of La Puer­ta, Diego Mar­tin, was rep­re­sent­ed by at­tor­ney Om Lal­la. The charges stem from an in­ves­ti­ga­tion last­ing a month. The probe took in­ves­ti­ga­tors to the Bish­op's Anstey High School, Port-of-Spain. Price re­port­ed­ly has a daugh­ter go­ing to the school.

She is al­leged to have un­law­ful­ly as­sault­ed Michelle Camp­bell by beat­ing her and used ob­scene lan­guage to the an­noy­ance of oth­ers on No­vem­ber 16, 2010 at the school's com­pound on Keate Street, Port-of-Spain. She sur­ren­dered to po­lice on Fri­day af­ter she learned that a war­rant had been is­sued for her ar­rest. She was or­dered to re­turn to court on Fri­day. Sgt Bar­ry Parsan­lal ap­peared for the pros­e­cu­tion.
