As Christmas approaches, Kelly Adsett said her heart aches for one person, her mother Christina who mysteriously vanished last September.
“This time of the year is hard. With everyone celebrating with their loved ones, all I want is my mother. Life is hard every day without you. Unanswered questions, not knowing, not hearing your voice. I miss you so very much, Mum,” she wrote in a social media post yesterday.
“I cry myself to sleep every night. I hold your photo close to my heart. I wish this was a nightmare, and I wake up. Words cannot explain how I feel. No one understands.”
She added: “We are offering a reward for information. Please, imagine if this was your mother or loved one.” .
The missing woman’s husband, Kelvin Adsett, has returned to London but before he left T&T he shared his distress over the lack of progress in locating her.
Adsett, who offered a $20,000 reward for any information that could shed light on his wife’s whereabouts, expressed dismay at the lack of unified efforts by law enforcement. He questioned the absence of dedicated police support for his family as occurs in the United Kingdom.
Although he contacted Interpol and the British Embassy for assistance, Adsett said he was disappointed at the lack of substantial progress in the investigation.
Penal police said the investigation into Christina’s disappearance is still active and officers are continuing to pursue all leads.
Christina went missing on September 11. She was last seen cleaning the front of her home where operated her business, Christina’s Foot Spa. Neighbours said she was dressed ib brown pants and a yellow T-shirt at the time of her disappearance.
Two days later, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) contacted the Penal police to verify information suggesting that she had been kidnapped and murdered. When they went to her home, the police found the back door open but there were no signs of forced entry. Christina’s cell phone and car keys were found in the house.
Anyone with information on the disappearance can call Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS or 349-8548.
