The Ministry of Health is going full steam ahead with its plans to digitise patients' medical records.
This was revealed by Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh at the official opening ceremony for the new Sangre Grande Hospital Campus.
Opened to the tune of 850 million dollars, and providing 106 beds, Deyalsingh said this system will allow health facilities to access a patient’s data from any other regional health authority though it’s far from completion.
Without mentioning the eight babies who died recently at the Port of Spain General Hospital, Deyalsingh acknowledged that the opening comes at a time when the country is experiencing immense sadness.
