Firearms dealer Luke Hadeed voluntarily surrendered to the police today.

Hadeed's company, AE Tactical, has been at the centre of controversy over the importation of two high-powered sniper rifles into Trinidad and Tobago.

Guardian Media was there when Hadeed and his attorney at law, Om Lalla, walked into the Police Administration Building just after 11 am today.

This development follows the arrest of former Strategic Services Agency (SSA) director Major Roger Best, who was taken into custody during a pre-dawn raid at his Arima residence on Wednesday morning.

Hadeed's attorney ruled out claims that his client is on the run or hiding from police investigators.

“There are reports in the media that Luke Hadeed of AE Tactical is in hiding … that he is under arrest … detained. Nothing can be further from the truth,” Hadeed’s attorney asserted.

“We understand they want to interview him [and] we are available. We have nothing to hide,” he said. “His involvement has been transparent and well documented.”

“It is unfortunate that the media’s perception of what is being said is only damaging his name and his reputation,” Lalla stated. “It is clear that he is here and we are going into headquarters.”

At the time of publishing this article, Hadeed was being interviewed at the Police Administration Building.
