Roo­sevelt Bruce, for­mer Chief Fire Of­fi­cer, has been ap­point­ed to chair the com­mit­tee ap­point­ed by the Gov­ern­ment to probe the Fire Ser­vice re­sponse to the fire that re­sult­ed in the deaths of MP for D’Abadie/O’Meara and Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, Lisa Mor­ris-Ju­lian and two of her chil­dren.

The an­nounce­ment was made by Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Fitzger­ald Hinds a short while ago at a news con­fer­ence.

Min­is­ter Hinds said the probe should take two weeks and the con­tents of the re­ports will be made pub­lic.

The oth­er mem­bers of the three-mem­ber com­mit­tee are Kurt Cadet, Chair­man of OS­HA and Ashti Ma­habir, at­tor­ney in the Of­fice of the At­tor­ney Gen­er­al and Le­gal Af­fairs.

Lisa Mor­ris-Julien, 48, and two of her chil­dren—her 25-year-old daugh­ter Xi­anne, and six-year-old son Je­si­ah—died in a fire at her Far­fan Street, Ari­ma, home ear­ly Mon­day morn­ing (De­cem­ber 16, 2024).
