Frontier Airlines is offering extra flights between Trinidad and Puerto Rico for the Carnival season. The Denver-based airline says that due to increased demand, it will add three roundtrip flights to its schedule, operating on February 28, March 2, and March 5. Frontier currently flies twice weekly between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan (SJU) and Piarco International Airport in Port of Spain (POS).

In a release, Josh Flyr, Frontier Airlines’ vice president of network and operations design, said:

“The Caribbean has become a magnificent home for Frontier, with impressive growth in our network across the region over the past year, and we are proud to honour its vibrant tradition and culture by increasing our service for the celebration of Carnival. These additional flights in February and March will provide more affordable and convenient connections to celebrants in Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, and the continental U.S. as they travel for the festival.”

Tourism, Culture, and the Arts Minister Randall Mitchell also welcomed Frontier’s decision to increase flight operations to destination T&T. In a statement to Guardian Media, he said:

“The announcement confirms a growing demand for travel to these islands during Carnival 2025, and we look forward to welcoming all our visitors to experience the culture, the artistry, the energy, and the vibrancy that we know this festival brings.”

Frontier is the latest airline to announce additional service to T&T for Carnival. In 2024, United Airlines reintroduced its Newark-POS route for Christmas 2024 and the 2025 Carnival period. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Caribbean Airlines have also added flights to their schedules for Carnival.
