Fuad Abu Bakr can no longer speak on be­half of the or­gan­i­sa­tion that his fa­ther leads.

The son of Imam Yasin Abu Bakr has been re­moved as the pub­lic re­la­tions of­fi­cer of the Ja­maat al Mus­limeen with im­me­di­ate ef­fect.

A state­ment from the re­li­gious body yes­ter­day did not of­fer a rea­son for Fuad be­ing re­moved but it stat­ed clear­ly that he no longer speaks on be­half of the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

The imam’s for­mer body­guard Lor­ris Bal­lack has been ap­point­ed as the new PRO.

Over the last few weeks, Fuad has al­leged that the Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) in­vit­ed him to be part of the par­ty’s elec­tion line up and that the Ja­maat was asked to as­sist with cam­paign­ing, which the prime min­is­ter has ve­he­ment­ly de­nied.

Fuad al­so re­cent­ly ac­cused his fa­ther of pan­der­ing to the prime min­is­ter and not be­ing ful­ly hon­est about the na­ture of their dis­cus­sions.
