Social Development Minister Dr Amery Browne said his ministry presented $3,500 to the parents of Tecia Henry to assist with the child’s funeral yesterday.

Browne said this during a brief telephone interview yesterday afternoon. Tecia’s body was found on June 17—five days after she was reported missing. She was buried yesterday, after a service at Holy Rosary Church in Port-of-Spain. Browne said Tecia’s killing and others which have occurred recently indicated that “we have a difficult fight on our hands” to effectively deal with the small criminal element in the country.

He said his ministry and the ministries of National Security and Community Development provided other types of assistance to the affected family and residents, in the form of counselling and financial assistance. He said Housing Minister Emily Dick-Forde was looking at a request by Tecia’s mother, Diane Henry, for a home in another location.

Again, this political manipulation must stop. A house for the family? The child paid the price. The government and Mr. Brown in particular need to get their act together and focus on dealing with the more serious issue plaguing communities like laventille, John John etc. PNM politics is responsible for this outrage that is happening in the East West Corridor. It is PNM politics that has fueled the violence that citizens are having to deal with from rogue elements in the laventille community. Time for all peopel to wake up and start being honest about what is the real problem in Laventille. It is PNM politics.

So if the girl did not die

So if the girl did not die you government people would not have helped Diane Henry to get a place to live, so in Trinidad someone have to die for you to help, how many other families have the same problem all over Trinidad, do you know how many houses you could have built with the summit money or the money you giving to all the other small islands.

By the way did the Social Development Minister come with a security escort? Did he feel safe in John John to leave his security behind? It sound like the other financial assistance (excluding the 3500) you give was for you to get out of John John alive!
