At­tor­ney Gen­er­al John Jer­mie has re­quest­ed more in­for­ma­tion from the Ch­agua­nas Bor­ough Cor­po­ra­tion to as­sess whether Ch­agua­nas West MP Jack Warn­er act­ed wrong­ful­ly by do­nat­ing $309,000 to re­hire 54 re­trenched work­ers. Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Min­is­ter Hazel Man­ning made the com­ment while ad­dress­ing re­porters, af­ter tour­ing the new­ly-con­struct­ed cor­po­ra­tion build­ing lo­cat­ed op­po­site the old build­ing. Man­ning was ac­com­pa­nied by Ch­agua­nas May­or Natasha Navas.

She said: "We are still await­ing word from the AG...He has asked for more in­for­ma­tion and I have asked the cor­po­ra­tion to fur­nish him with the in­for­ma­tion un­til then I am wait­ing on his ad­vice." Mean­while, Man­ning said the cost of the new cor­po­ra­tion build­ing was es­ti­mat­ed at ap­prox­i­mate­ly $30 mil­lion and was ex­pect­ed to be com­plet­ed by year-end.

Say­ing that she was pleased with the con­struc­tion of the build­ing so far, Man­ning said: "I am re­al­ly very im­pressed. The build­ing is 95 per cent al­most com­plet­ed and hope­ful­ly by year-end it will be hand­ed over to the cor­po­ra­tion." The min­is­ter said sim­i­lar build­ings would be con­struct­ed in Ari­ma, Diego Mar­tin and in Princes Town.
