Jack goes after Panday

Jack Warner is hell-bent on taking away house, car, property, furniture and other valuables from Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday when he hauls Panday before the court for slander and defamation of character. Warner said so yesterday at his shadow office set up in Panday’s Couva North constituency.
Within hours of the office being opened, scores of people gathered to speak to Warner on a range of concerns including poor roads, clogged drains and broken bridges. Speaking to reporters, Warner said: “You think Panday and I should be going to court? This should not have happened. Mr Panday was my friend, my icon. An English lawyer is coming down on Tuesday to take up this case and you think it costing peanuts. Mr Panday will pay! Every one of them will pay!” Warner said.
“When the case is finished and they cannot pay (the legal fees), I am going after their house, their property, their furniture, their car. They must feel it. They must pay... “Somebody must turn and say to Bas enough is enough. I have done too much for Panday to call me a drug lord just because I chose to help poor people. Panday doesn't know what he has done. Panday will pay and all those who are with him will pay, and the money I get back I will give to the poor,” Warner added. He contended that there is no other way to get into Government unless an alliance is made with the Congress of the People.
He added that the mission is to rebrand the UNC into becoming a respected party that could work with the COP with a view to overthrowing the ruling PNM. However, he said this mission could never be achieved with Panday at the helm, because people had no respect or trust for Panday. He apologised to supporters for engaging in a “nasty fight” with Panday. “It is nasty and I know that. I apologise for it. But remember, it has to get bad nasty before it can get good, and when it gets good it will stay good.” Warner said he had no intention of being political leader but preferred the post of party chairman.
Quote: "and the money I get
Quote: "and the money I get back I will give to the poor,”"- Just for that comment I'm hoping that Jack wins as I would love to see whether he will stick to his word on that..Any Bets???
Now I wonder who in their
Now I wonder who in their right mind going to finance Panday, Hope the UNC Executive taking note, or they want to go down with bass at the helm. Kamala you get real quite now, worried o what.
Give "Jack his Jacket". His
Give "Jack his Jacket". His record speaks for itself, he will give the money to the poor once he collects any costs awarded by the courts. One thing you can say for Jack is that he is always willing to help others. Much of what he does to help out people does not reach the press, I know of some of them. The man does have an open hand, he is not "stingy".
However, the real revelation is the path clearly laid out by Jack for opposition political unity. With Bass out of the way there will be opposition unity between COP and UNC. Bass knows this, but he is so nasty, vindictive, mean and uncaring that he will do all he can to ensure that opposition unity doesnot take place. He's very selfish and power hungry and it's about time that the people abandon him, in the national interest.
I would love to see how this
I would love to see how this working out COP and the NEW UNC under Jack, Jack wants to be PM so exactly what role he giving Dookeran?
Read the article carefully,
Read the article carefully, Jack says he's interested in the post of party chairman, not political leader.
"Warner said he had no intention of being political leader but preferred the post of party chairman."
"Warner said he had no
"Warner said he had no intention of being political leader but preferred the post of party chairman."
Didn't Panday say the same thing in 2005?
Panday I know you, my family
Panday I know you, my family knows you, please try to stop this nonsense. We are wrecking our chances of unity and a strategy with COP to beat the PNM, but the longer you delay and with court cases, it will be years and the opposition will fully bite the dust. Why are we fighting in public. Here Panday, you have a good man in your party and this is happening? If Panday-Warner go the courts way, then really, our TT citizens need think of making a real new Opposition party. Can it be done?
Gospelspy, you truly believe
Gospelspy, you truly believe that even if Jack really means what he says today, that that is how he would feel tomorrow? This is a politician! I am drinking my coffee right now - want some?!!
manfriday
Right and you believe Jack
Right and you believe Jack he just wants to be Chairman of this new entity? What post does Jack now hold in the UNC, is he leader no but he still making a stink as to who should be leader or not of the UNC.
Jack also said he did not want to be political leader of the UNC, but I guess he wants to have enough power to say who he wants as leader of any party, seems to me Jack says he does not want a leading role, but he sure does not mind being the puppet master, maybe Jack sees Dookeran as his new puppet.
A Pyrrhic victory, Mr
A Pyrrhic victory, Mr Warner, if you win Mr Panday in court.
As a historian, Mr Warner may no doubt be familiar with the battles which the ancient Greek King Pyrrhus waged against the Romans when he invaded the southern Italian city of Tarentum at the request of the Tarentines. The two epic battles were the Battle of Heraclea (BC 280) and the Battle of Asculum (279 BC).
His motives weren't entirely selfless, as he hoped to forge an empire for himself in that part of Italy. According to the records, he won the battle, but lost irreplaceably huge numbers of troops.
He won but he lost.
In AD 2009, are we witnessing a Trini version of the battles of this very (in)famous Hellenistic Greek King Pyrrhus?

No need to apologise Warner,
No need to apologise Warner, it has to be done and this is the only way. I have always maintained that Pandey is the biggest PNM supporter, and those who cant see that cant see beyound the paunch of their bellies. Keep it up. As my old maths teacher used to tell us " one day one day Congo-thay " .
Maybe Pandey never heard that one before.
all those who against Jack
all those who against Jack please stop, no one in TT who in government or opposition or COP is helping anybody, only Jack
Panday go up and live in Kensington, go to the other part where your daughter is and see about your granddaughter, take Subhas
I could pass and take another pic of the house to show TT
Pandays are the problem not the daughter (I am a feminist)
Jack you rally on you hear, you better than the best, I could forgive and forget if you do something bad now (which I doubt)
Ent we Trinis forgive everybody
Jack you are the man with the plan and Panday cannot drive the van
Transparency and Standards:
Transparency and Standards: Mr. Warner if it was a drug lord giving the money to the Mayor would you not object. Therefore there is a need for transparency to determine when citizens or even corp. give funds to govt bodies. Secondly, as the MP for Chag. W. your constituency is part of the borough, thus there is a potential conflict or interest, remember Karen and Clico. Could it be that your constituency would now be favored. Despite your good intent there are a few pitfalls in your granting the money to the borough.
Further can it be perceived that the Mayor is now beholden to you. You have put her in a situation when her independence, her thinking and decision making is compromised.
Your issue with Mr. Pandey is another matter, however as you speak you come across as a bitter angry and vindictive individual and I hope your PR people would rope in your over exuberance for the long-term political benefit of T&T.
Mayor Natasha Navas is
Mayor Natasha Navas is supported by the UNC fraction , which wants change and is led by Jack Warner , along with Ramesh Maharaj and Winston Peters . Former Mayors of Chaguanas , Orlando Nagessar and Surujrattan Rambachan were not independent , they took their orders from Panday . Cantrini , what's your point , do you want Mayor Navas to fail ? Well , I can tell you now , she is not going to fail as Mayor of Chaguanas because Jack Warner and the good people of Chaguanas are going to support her all the way . Before Jack gave the money to pay the workers , the constituents of Chaguanas West said that Jack is the BEST MP they have ever had . Cantrini , Jack could have invited the 54 displaced worker to is office and give them $5,722.00 each - but Jack did not do that because he wanted the workers to earn they money and get back their jobs at the CBC , rather than do what a political anaconda like Panday might have done . Cantrini , where does the conflict of interest exist when a political representative helps his constituents with his own money ? Austin Jack Warner is a philanthropist and he has been helping people in T&T (including the Pandays) and outside of T&T . The Integrity in public life Act applies to All elected members of Parliament and other citizens who are in public life . So is Jack Warner a private citizen or a public citizen ?? Finally Cantrini , Panday and his minions have been spewing their verbal venom at Jack Warner for weeks , so if Jack comes across to you as a bitter , angry vindictive individual - to me he is a humanitarian who has been deeply hurt , by former ungrateful friends like Panday and his minions . ATW - Barbados .
Irrational Analysis: Former
Irrational Analysis: Former Mayors were not independent so Mayor Navas need not be independent. Your logic is appalling. To ask what is my point clearly demonstrates a lack of understanding of a mayor being beholden to a benefactor. Next week if she attempts to exercise independence would Jack Warner make revelations as he has now done with the Panday's, namely I put her in office etc. Now do you see my point. No one is wishing the Mayor to fail my friend. Failure or success would be a by product of her own action.
Also no one is questioning whether Mr. Warner is the best MP, the need for transparency and structures in place however is clearly highlighted by his grant or donation.
You ask where does the conflict of interest exist. I suggest you reread the Integrity in Public Life Act and you would notice it does not apply in this matter. Sadly must say if you cannot see a conflict then I cannot educate on this. But maybe if a drug dealer resident in Chaguanas gave the money to his fellow residents would you see a conflict then or would he fall in the line of community member of philanthropist.
I apologize for the late response.
If I was Jack I would tell
If I was Jack I would tell this Wiggins character to stop supporting me .He or She writes so much nonsense.I wouldn't want people to know my main supporters are so dense only praising me for any nonsense I do. Jack needs supporters but people who can give good advice not blind supporters
Lame horses can't win any
Lame horses can't win any race.
X marks the box where voters will mark their votes come next TT general elections. If you're a betting person, Mr Manning seems to be ahead by several furlongs against what appear to be lame horses.

Sleep with the devil.
Sleep with the devil. Politics has a price. So the truth comes out with how to buy your way into politics. Time for everything to come out & no keeping secrets. Jack & Bas have unshackled each other
It is astounding to me,
It is astounding to me, absolutely ASTOUNDING to see adults behave like stupid, assonine, immature children. You, Mr. Jack Warner, I'm presuming have led the good, pure, righetous life. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones re: The World Cup 2006 - selling tickets - making an illegal profit (and that's just one of many).
The PNM have done MANY wrong things, and STILL doing wrong things ... I just watched a news broadcast in the U.S. with Manning discussing all the "great things the PNM have done" (yes, I REFUSE to even utter the words, "Honorable" and "Prime Minister" in the same sentence because he isn't either or close to one of those things, and neither are the members in his party) and the stupidity and lack of intelligence that oozed from his mouth left me wondering how on earth is this man STILL head of a country and why are people idiotic enough to vote for him over and over again, then I remembered, he deems himself God and can convince even the smartest of people that he is best for T&T.
In essence, Jack Warner, stop being a child who can't get his play toys and move on with your life. You're taking up space on a newspaper and you're really quite a bore.
CMN
Very wrong. In fact he is
Very wrong. In fact he is not taking up space, but he is leading the movement for change. You sound like a Pandey supporter. It doesnt matter what Pandey do, you will support him. That is your right, but dont tell Warner to go, because he has a lot of support. When last has Pandey visited his constituency? You assumed every week eh. Very wrong, Pandey never visits his area, I have a house there so I can tell you. The man no different from manning. Living off the Laventillians.
So you Sir, Stand Tall, because as I said before, Warner will give it to him without grease.
Again Stand Tall.
These so called leaders are
These so called leaders are supposed to be working for betterment of T&T but with all the fighting and vengeance it is like one big stage production. Bas was an actor in his younger days you know. Anyway, I have stocked up on popcorn and wait to see what next:
Will Bas and Jack forgive and make up?
Will Panday ask "what money"?
Will Jack reveal a new list of things he paid for?
Will Manning and his followers ever stop laughing?
Tune in next time to another episode of "Jokey Leaders" brought to you in part by CLICO, Center of Excellence and Hyatt Hotels.
Defamation of Character Mr.
Defamation of Character
Mr. Jack Warner, it would appear that you are a knowledgeable and financially rich man. These two characteristics can either make or break a man. I would ask that you use them wisely. You claim that Mr. Panday has attempted to defame your character when he labelled you a drug lord. Yes, I do agree that this is a serious slander, and any sane person, especially one with the financial means like you, and one in the public's eye, should use the courts to clear their name. You on the other hand have decided that clearing your name would not be satisfactory, as it will not be as severe a punishment deserving of such a violation against you. You want to 'hurt' Mr. Panday, and 'destroy' him and his extended family, using the courts to hand down the judgement(s) you desire. Your pronouncement to hand-over to charity, the money and assets you will seize from the Pandays after you 'destroy' them is unsettling. To many of us, this will be 'dirty' money, and even money of shame. I don't think that any charitable organization with dignity can accept this money with a smile and a clear conscience. You and only you Mr. Warner can make the decision you feel are essential for you. We, the citizens of T&T cannot dictate to you what you must do. However, having said that, I find that you are behaving a bit too out of control. Proceeding with your court action and having the courts rule in your favour does not seem to be sufficient for you. Why are you using the public square to argue your legal case, in your favour and against Mr. Panday, and yes, his entire family in such derogratory language. Many of us feel extremely uncomfortable with this public display, which resembles a J'ouvert display of madness, of someone out of control. Mr. Warner, you sit on the world body of Football/Soccer and you have first hand experience of what behaviour is acceptable and what is not. So, Mr. W. could you please refrain from 'jumping up' on the political platform like a 'drunken sailor' and present your case like an intelligent man, with dignity, one who would like to convince us that he has a strategic role to play in the political life of this country in making it a progressive and prosperous one. Mr. Warner, this advice from me to you is a charitable donation from one citizen to another. I am among those who would like Mr. Panday to step down from the Leadership role he holds in the UNC-A or even exit politics, something he should have done many moons ago, in the interest of this nation. He served this country well but like every thing in life there is always an appropriate time for us give up and move on. Mr. Panday's time has long come and gone.
Finally a breath of
Finally a breath of rationality to and other wise very emotional debate.
You speak for a vast number of people when you you make these two comments " many of us feel extremely uncomfortable with this public display"
"I find that you are behaving a bit too out of control."
Mr. Warner, you know as well
Mr. Warner, you know as well as the rest of us that this is just a storm in a tea cup, in a few weeks you will all be hugging up and buddy buddy again, so save us all from the rantings now. Whilst sympathising with you for your feelings right now there is not much trust in ANY of you in the end. All I want to say now is, for God's sake, Panday, go away!!!!! Thanks.
All this talk about who will
All this talk about who will pay and who house and car will be taken WILL come up in court, if it ever goes to Trial.
This is no longer about justice but revenge and spite. The courts are not the place for that.
The more Jack rants, raves, and galleries to the Public, the weaker his case becomes and the more ammunition he gives to Panday's legal team. He supposed to know this. Shhhh!
