Destra Garcia—soca artiste, mummy-to-be—wants her first child to be a boy, but has said, “whatever the Father gives me, I will be happy.” Speaking with the Sunday Guardian, Garcia who plans to perform while pregnant, said she still has not decided where or how she will have the baby.

“I’m still weighing my options,” she said. Garcia is due to give birth next January. Garcia said, “My performances are still energetic but I am not jumping as high. I am still fit and healthy but I am slowing down gradually. I have to make a mental note that I have a person in there.”

Garcia said she would continue exercising so that her baby will be born healthy. She said when choosing a name for her baby, she wants to ensure her child has a unique name just as her parents gave her an unusual one. “Everybody says when I give birth, I will not want to leave my child.”

What a wonderful relief.

What a wonderful relief. Finally an important story that will take the minds of suffering Trinis away from the daily trauma of survival and deceit in the nation. What a wonderful and moving saga to lull the folk. Destra is having a baby. And wants a boy. A genuine Punkaan, with a rare name.

Trinidad reach. You are into "celebrities". I dunno if the Destra person is a celebrity, but that is Trinidad.

Hey! Say! What color dog dog she likes? And the color of her living room set?

Is anyone living real in Trinidad? And sick, dying, suffering, educating, experiencing life? Why not write an article about the fisherfolk in Mayaro, or portray vignettes of catch-arse villages and survival in affluent TnT?

No aspersion on the lady mentioned and pregnant. Just watch and cater to priorities.

it's good to see happy

it's good to see happy parents anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby. i can only hope that these two people remember there is a 13 year old girl without her father in her life since destra "bacchanal" garcia managed to take daddy away from her loving mummy since 1998. unfortunately for her that relationship ended in divorce by 2002. i hope this relationship lasts for destra's sake otherwise she and her child may finally know what it feels like to be the mother and child left abandoned and hurt by a man you thought loved you for life. good luck with everything folks....nice to see you happy for once.
