NCC assets sent to GISL
Neil Parsanlal
Information Minister Neil Parsanlal says the Cabinet has approved the creation of an Information Production House at Government Information Services Limited (GISL). In a release last night, Parsanlal said the assets of NCC TV, formerly operated by the National Carnival Commission, had been transferred to GISL following a Cabinet decision to rationalise Government’s media assets to create an Information Production House.
Parsanlal, the release said, expressed his gratitude to staff of NCC TV who had been running the station since January 2005 when it was set up temporarily pending the establishment of state-owned CNMG.
The staff was presented with a termination package recognising their four years of dedicated service and invited to apply for suitable positions at GISL which began operations two years ago. Parsanlal said the Cabinet approved the creation of the Information Production House utilising the assets formerly operated by NCC TV, and in collaboration with CNMG.
