‘Corruption is king in T&T’
Caroni East MP Dr Tim Gopeesingh said corruption is King in T&T. He told members of the Lower House during yesterday’s debate on the 2009/10 national budget that there was no accountability of leadership and no trust in authority in T&T.
“The Government is guilty of flagrant, blatant, open nepotism, corruption and lack of integrity and morality in public affairs,” he said. He added: “We are being sucked disconcertingly into a precarious maelstrom of anomic internal conflict, instability and insecurity. This Government has poisoned and corroded every aspect of public life and of what we once knew as independent institutions.” Gopeesingh raised concern about the restructure of T&T’s national airline.
“BWIA (was) restructured to Caribbean Airlines for $1.5 billion. What was that? A change of the bird on the tail of the aircraft? This same PNM government sold 25 per cent of BWIA to Ed Acker in the 1990s for $10 million. This same Caribbean Airlines considered purchasing a losing airline, Air Jamaica. Who are the players in Caribbean Airlines?” asked Gopeesingh. “Are they the same players with WASA and Clico’s new management? What a corrupt mess. Same BWIA which wants to pay their minority shareholders 22 cents per share, but uses taxpayers’ $1.5 billion to restructure,” he said.
“Corruption and hypocrisy
“Corruption and hypocrisy ought not to be inevitable products of democracy, as they undoubtedly are today”

Is there anyway of running a Govt without being above board? transparent in your plans and open accounting? Is there an Public Accounts Board of Commission in TT to look into all these questionable accounts? Look at the discrepancy in the helicopters, now the Embassies which are being bought. What is going on in TT that a Govt can get away with ruining this beautiful country?. Pollution and corruption of the public institutions that are meant to have oversight. Where is TT headed with this strategy? Can a new Govt, unravel this mess? What Panday said in the House is correct and things need fixing in TT and money will be well spent solving some age old concerns, that still exist before steel came on the scene. So much industrialisation and TT is in a mess again. The money TT made got saved up but now TT is in a large deficit. The property tax should be repealed. There are people out there who cant handle money: fact.
BALANCE/FAIRNESS
BALANCE/FAIRNESS
It is interesting that those who say UNC has no moral authority still claim that PNM has moral and spiritual values. This after all these revelations which are many times worst than anything done under the UNC.
Fairplay this is so because
Fairplay this is so because in "sweet" T&T there is one law for some and another for the PNM and doh forget ...we like it so.
You like it so, people like
You like it so, people like you cannot prosper because you are like a Robot.
PNM and the UNC are
PNM and the UNC are Corrupt
Both major political parties are corrupt. If you are PNM you cannot point your finger and say UNC is corrupt, nor as UNC can you point and say PNM is corrupt. Anyone who is a card carrying member of these parties are responsible for the corruption of TnT.
You know the drill my party is pure thier party is evil. You are all so blind, but then again why strain your brain thinking for yourselves. Life is so happier when Manning and Pandey think for you.
Gopeesingh is just as
Gopeesingh is just as corrupt
Enough said.
TRUE PNM, UNC AND COP
TRUE PNM, UNC AND COP -
PNM, UNC and COP are corrupt. They are all corrupt, even the ones who left and formed their own party as they supported the corruption to the end.
1) But is 6 years of corruption equal to 40 years.
2) Is 10 million in corruption the same as 10 billion?
3) Is 100 murders a year the same as 450 murders a year.
4) Generally it seems that more is either equal or better than less.
5) Are you a better leader if you lose your seat or if you win your seat?
6) Is it that the party that gets the least seats is the best?
That statement is so true!

Dr. Tim Gopeesingh could also have directed this statement to Panday and how he is destroying the UNC.
