?A Guyanese na­tion­al is fight­ing for his life at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal af­ter be­ing shot once to the chest, while uri­nat­ing close to a par­lour in Princes Town. Up to late yes­ter­day, Ewart Shep­phard, 20, re­mained ward­ed in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion. Po­lice said around 11 pm on Sat­ur­day, Shep­phard was lim­ing with a friend at Loony Street, In­di­an Walk, Moru­ga, when he went in­to some bush­es to uri­nate.

Po­lice said a loud ex­plo­sion was heard and Shep­phard stum­bled out of the bush­es, clutch­ing his chest. He was tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he un­der­went emer­gency surgery. Po­lice led by Cpl Bharose and PC Bish­op vis­it­ed the scene and searched for clues. A mo­tive for the shoot­ing has not been es­tab­lished. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
