?A Guyanese national is fighting for his life at the San Fernando General Hospital after being shot once to the chest, while urinating close to a parlour in Princes Town. Up to late yesterday, Ewart Shepphard, 20, remained warded in a serious condition. Police said around 11 pm on Saturday, Shepphard was liming with a friend at Loony Street, Indian Walk, Moruga, when he went into some bushes to urinate.
Police said a loud explosion was heard and Shepphard stumbled out of the bushes, clutching his chest. He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Police led by Cpl Bharose and PC Bishop visited the scene and searched for clues. A motive for the shooting has not been established. Investigations are continuing.
