Cops confront One Voice at Savannah
Social activist and leader of the group One People, One Voice Inshan Ishmael said the group was in no way protesting when they were confronted by police at the Queen’s Park Savannah Sunday night. Speaking to CNC3 Sunday, Ishmael said the group had just returned from a meeting and decided to stop at the Paddock to get food and to discuss the day’s activities. One People, One Voice had earlier gathered at the Helping Hands grounds in St Augustine for a rally.
He said minutes after the group arrived at the savannah, a heavily-tinted vehicle pulled up and he noticed a man with a machine gun inside. Ishmael said the group became concerned as they did not know if the vehicle was that of the police or criminals as the occupants inside did not identify themselves. Ishmael said soon afterward a contingent of police and army officers arrived on the scene and told the group they “were concerned with us being here.”
Is this group in any
Is this group in any criminal activities? If not the heavily tinted vehicle should go and catch the real criminals. Monkey know what tree to climb!
The people of sweet T&T must
The people of sweet T&T must be very careful with what the are being confronted with, if freedom of speech and movements are curtailed then very soon we will begin to see our country slowly becoming a police state. I dont really blame the police , they are simply carrying out instruction from their seniors, who also are carrying instructions from the big Chief. Open your eyes. This is how Mugabe started.
OTHERS MARCHING ALL OVER THE
OTHERS MARCHING ALL OVER THE PLACE -
This group is obviously targeted, like Panday. Interesting because they never thought that there day would come. I wonder how it feels when the shoe is on the other foot.
Inshan ah think the police
Inshan ah think the police just want to know if allyuh was going to sit in front the "emporer's palace" again.
Wearing down our
Wearing down our Democracy?
Our freedoms being flushed down the drain?
I never thought the day would come, in this lifetime of mine, when a group of peace loving people simply gathered together in our Savannah, would be targetted by a "contingent of Police and Army Oficers" and told that they "were concerned with us being there." Where is our freedom to peacefully assemble?
The criminals are in charge of our country; we are no longer safe and secure anywhere, anymore; and instead of these Officers directing their attention to solving crime in the crime areas and the criminals, they are targetting peace-loving and innocent citizens.
What mext Mr. Manning, Mr. Martin Joseph and Mr. Philbert?
Will your next move be to send our citizens to Nelson Island? I wonder!
Mr. Mugabe, we are stepping up with you mister.
