?Prime Minister Patrick Manning left for Cuba yesterday for a routine medical examination, a release from the Office of the Prime Minster stated. Manning had a pacemaker implanted to regulate his heartbeat several years ago in Cuba. And during one of his routine medical examinations after the surgery, he was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in his kidney. Manning had the tumour removed last December. The release said Manning would return to T&T on Wednesday. In his absence, Senator Dr Lenny Saith would carry out the functions of the Prime Minister.
