My wish for next year

A number of prominent citizens were asked what was their wish for 2010 and this is what they had to say:

Prison Officers Association, public relations officer, Cerron Richards: “A change in administration and how they are doing their work with prison officers on and off duty in fundamental issues. Infrastructure development to facilitate new direction embarked on. A new proactive approach with employees.”

Chairman of the Lottery Control Board Louis Lee Sing: “One wish for T&T is that all the people who seek to divide this country on the basis of race would wake up and realise that they are sowing a wind and will wake up and realise they are reaping a whirlwind.

Attorney Anand Ramlogan: “I would like to see a reprioritisation of government’s expenditure that is geared to meeting the real needs of the people than the fanciful ambitions of the Prime Minister. Better hospital, roads, and safety for all citizens.”

Attorney Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj: “I hope the people have a happy new year, a good supply of drinking water, crime free, good roads, and they will feel safe and secure while they are at home and on the street. T&T is living in torture and hopefully new year we will be emancipated and free from it.”

Imam Lorris Ballack: “Those people who vie for political power of this land start to kindly take into consideration the needs of our people.”

President of the Police and Service Social and Welfare Association Emrol Bruce: “Properly compensated police officers with access to accommodations which are not where they are to be. Manpower and training to be increased and the Police Academy to be properly recognised as the premier training entity for police officers.”

Estate Police Association president Edison Munroe: “More benefits for the estate police in private security industry. We are looking at Minimum Wages Order to be honoured by the companies and the Ministry of Labour have supervisors unsure that the order is adhered to in the fullest.”

Second Vice President of the PSA/Sensei instructor Kishi Karate Christopher Joefield: “I would like to see public officers get relativity restored in their compensation. We would like to see for the New Year they treated with a degree of respect that they deserve.”

Fire Services public relations officer Kenrick Bethelmy: “I would like to see the citizens of T&T begin to understand that doing the wrong thing will not result in goodness. Therefore succumbing to the idea of doing something illegal or immoral will not solve our problems of crime, homeless, hopelessness.”

Coast Guard public relations officer Lt Kirk Jean Baptiste: “Have stronger and wider maritime protection. Safe and calm seas for all visiting and local seamen.”

Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation Patricia Mejias: “Our corporation continues to give good service in the new year. Hope our area becomes crime free and a clean environment and health.”

President of Painaide Sean Nero: “Betterment for individual pannists and better structural development for the steelpan industry.”

President of Lifeguards Branch Augustus Sylvester: “We want a better representation from the union because we are not getting any.”
San Juan Business Association public relations officer Abraham Ali: “The government becomes passionate to the general citizenry of the country where they look at the needs of the citizens have as regards water, health care, education and public utilities.”

Zen night club owner Johnny Soong: “A better standard of living for the less fortunate and good health for the families. We need to get out of this world’s recession soon. Generally, a more peaceful and responsible world.”

Mr Calder Heart was left out

Mr Calder Heart was left out from the above Santa's list. He may or may not be able to advise on having a merry Christmas, but he sure as hell knows about a Bright and Prosperous New Year - for himself and his sponsor, that is!!
