Blue Diamonds will start the 2010 Panorama Small and Medium Conventional Band preliminaries (Northern Region) tomorrow, at the Lord Kitchener Stand, South Quay, Port-of-Spain. The steelband from George Street, South-East Port-of-Spain, is the first of 16 bands that will be judged in the small band category, and its tune of choice is Slinger Francisco's (Mighty Sparrow) Lying Excuses.
Five medium bands will face the judges, including the 2007 and 2008 winner, Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille, which will perform as its tune of choice, Destra's Surrender, arranged by Ken "Professor" Philmore. Competition starts at 1 pm. Admission is $50, payable at the gate.
