?An au­top­sy on 32-year-old Guyanese na­tion­al An­tho­ny Ja­groop yes­ter­day re­vealed he died of mul­ti­ple in­juries. .

Ja­groop, a labour­er, was killed last Thurs­day while shov­el­ling dirt near the reser­voir on Sad­dle Road, Mar­aval. He was stay­ing in Char­lieville. He had been work­ing around mid­day when he was al­leged­ly struck by a green Dis­cov­ery Range Rover, po­lice said.

Po­lice said the dri­ver of the van Mark Biltza, a Ger­man na­tion­al re­sid­ing at North Coast Road was lat­er dis­charged from hos­pi­tal. Ja­groop died of mas­sive stom­ach in­juries, a bro­ken ribcage and a rib punc­tured his spleen. Up to late yes­ter­day evening, po­lice were seek­ing to con­tact the Ger­man Em­bassy for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion. Cpl J Gro­den, of the Mar­aval Po­lice Sta­tion, is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
