The Independence Day Parade will begin at 7.30 am at the old Grand Stand site at the Queen's Park Savannah on Tuesday, according to Defence Force public relations officer Captain Al Alexander.
In a brief meeting yesterday at the Savannah, Alexander said dignitaries and other government officials would enter from the west and proceed east to the VIP stand. The parade will be comprised of members of the T&T Regiment, Coast Guard, Air Guard, Defence Force Reserves, Fire Services, Prison Services, Police Services, St John's Ambulance and T&T Red Cross.
President George Maxwell Richards will arrive at 8 am and will take the salute and subsequently inspect the parade. The after parade march will start at the top of Frederick Street and march south to Park Street. It will then turn west on Park Street down Tragarete Road to Roxy Roundabout and into the Police Training Academy.
