The In­de­pen­dence Day Pa­rade will be­gin at 7.30 am at the old Grand Stand site at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah on Tues­day, ac­cord­ing to De­fence Force pub­lic re­la­tions of­fi­cer Cap­tain Al Alexan­der.

In a brief meet­ing yes­ter­day at the Sa­van­nah, Alexan­der said dig­ni­taries and oth­er gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials would en­ter from the west and pro­ceed east to the VIP stand. The pa­rade will be com­prised of mem­bers of the T&T Reg­i­ment, Coast Guard, Air Guard, De­fence Force Re­serves, Fire Ser­vices, Prison Ser­vices, Po­lice Ser­vices, St John's Am­bu­lance and T&T Red Cross.

Pres­i­dent George Maxwell Richards will ar­rive at 8 am and will take the salute and sub­se­quent­ly in­spect the pa­rade. The af­ter pa­rade march will start at the top of Fred­er­ick Street and march south to Park Street. It will then turn west on Park Street down Tra­garete Road to Roxy Round­about and in­to the Po­lice Train­ing Acad­e­my.
