A Coast Guard vessel of relief supplies has been sent St Vincent on behalf of the people of Trinidad and Tobago. This follows a request from St Vincent Prime Minister Ralph Gonzalves who sent a list of urgently needed supplies last Thursday. He did so after Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar indicated this country's willingness to assist the hurricane devastated island.

Persad-Bissessar and Gonzalves have been in regular communication since Hurricane Tomas hit the island of St Vincent. The T&T Prime Minister has thanked the local private sector for their tremendous assistance in partnering with the Government in the timely delivery of aid to islands affected by Tropical Storm Tomas.
