"See good, be good, do good and good will follow you." This is the mantra that Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has asked thousands of children who converged at Skinner Park yesterday to repeat daily. The PM was speaking to thousands of children when her Christmas gift-giving caravan rolled into San Fernando. She said she was happy to have brought Christmas joy to them.
Yesterday's event, according to the Prime Minister's communications personnel, attracted the biggest crowd since Persad-Bissessar launched the Christmas Campaign earlier this month. A total of 120 Public Transportation Service Corporation buses were used to transport children and their parents from 11 constituencies in south Trinidad including Oropouche, Point Fortin, Fyzabad and Moruga to Skinner Park.
Persad-Bissessar, flanked by MPs, San Fernando Mayor Marlene Coudray and Cabinet members, belted out the tune We wish you a Merry Christmas much to the delight of the children.
The Prime Minister will be at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, this afternoon where she will distribute toys to needy children in Central. (RR)
