San Fer­nan­do West MP Car­olyn Seep­er­sad-Bachan has vowed to per­son­al­ly vis­it the 31 Mara­bel­la chil­dren who did not get the op­por­tu­ni­ty to at­tend the Prime Min­is­ter's Christ­mas treats at Skin­ner Park yes­ter­day. Seep­er­sad-Bachan, speak­ing with the Sun­day Guardian at the San Fer­nan­do event, said she was un­aware of the in­ci­dent.

She promised, how­ev­er, to look in­to what led to the 31 chil­dren, who were se­lect­ed to at­tend the event with Mara­bel­la West Coun­cil­lor Glo­ria Cal­liste, be­ing sent home. "I do not have the facts. I do not know what hap­pened. I will have to in­ves­ti­gate it, and be­lieve me when I in­ves­ti­gate it I will rec­ti­fy the prob­lem," she de­clared.

Seep­er­sad-Bachan promised to vis­it the chil­dren who were dis­ap­point­ed yes­ter­day and per­son­al­ly give them presents.

The En­er­gy Min­is­ter, how­ev­er, ad­mit­ted that yes­ter­day's event was over­whelm­ing giv­en the large num­ber of peo­ple who turned up at Skin­ner Park. "Hon­est­ly, giv­en the num­ber of peo­ple here and the whole lo­gis­tics of it, it was a lot (to han­dle)," she said.
