San Fernando West MP Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan has vowed to personally visit the 31 Marabella children who did not get the opportunity to attend the Prime Minister's Christmas treats at Skinner Park yesterday. Seepersad-Bachan, speaking with the Sunday Guardian at the San Fernando event, said she was unaware of the incident.
She promised, however, to look into what led to the 31 children, who were selected to attend the event with Marabella West Councillor Gloria Calliste, being sent home. "I do not have the facts. I do not know what happened. I will have to investigate it, and believe me when I investigate it I will rectify the problem," she declared.
Seepersad-Bachan promised to visit the children who were disappointed yesterday and personally give them presents.
The Energy Minister, however, admitted that yesterday's event was overwhelming given the large number of people who turned up at Skinner Park. "Honestly, given the number of people here and the whole logistics of it, it was a lot (to handle)," she said.
