Two peo­ple were in­jured yes­ter­day in a six-car pile-up on the Churchill-Roo­sevelt High­way near the So­lo fac­to­ry. Lis­ton Ab­erdeen, of Cou­va, and Fa­ti­ma Has­san, of Freeport, up to late yes­ter­day were re­ceiv­ing med­ical treat­ment at the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Two oth­er peo­ple were tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex with mi­nor in­juries. The col­li­sion, in­volv­ing a Hilux, a ten-tonne dump truck, a three-tonne truck, a trail­er and two cars, took place at around 3 pm.

Up to late yes­ter­day evening, de­tec­tives were tak­ing state­ments from the vic­tims and try­ing to de­ter­mine the cause of the ac­ci­dent which caused a pile-up of traf­fic as far as Broad­way, Port-of-Spain. Act­ing sub-of­fi­cer Smith and act­ing Fire Sta­tion Of­fi­cer Chang vis­it­ed the scene. PC McKen­zie of the Barataria Po­lice Sta­tion is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
