Two people were injured yesterday in a six-car pile-up on the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway near the Solo factory. Liston Aberdeen, of Couva, and Fatima Hassan, of Freeport, up to late yesterday were receiving medical treatment at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Two other people were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex with minor injuries. The collision, involving a Hilux, a ten-tonne dump truck, a three-tonne truck, a trailer and two cars, took place at around 3 pm.
Up to late yesterday evening, detectives were taking statements from the victims and trying to determine the cause of the accident which caused a pile-up of traffic as far as Broadway, Port-of-Spain. Acting sub-officer Smith and acting Fire Station Officer Chang visited the scene. PC McKenzie of the Barataria Police Station is continuing investigations.
