A man was confronted and shot multiple times as he was riding his bicycle on Monday night in Carapo.
Police said they believe that the shooting was linked to a construction contract.
According to a police report, at about 10.45 pm the 36-year-old man was riding his bike along Winston Mulligan Drive when two gunmen confronted him and opened fire on him. The victim was shot four times in the shoulder and leg.
The gunmen then escaped. The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated.
Investigators believe that this is the second shooting incident as gang warfare between the Rasta City and Muslim gangs heats up due to a multi-million contract in the area.
This latest shooting occurred on the first day since construction resumed after the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions ease.
Investigations are continuing.
