The Hazardous Seas Alert, which was activated on Thursday evening, remains at Yellow Level, according to a revised advisory issued on Saturday morning by the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS).
In the advisory, the Alert—which covers northern exposed coastal areas of Trinidad and Tobago—is expected to end at 10 am on Sunday 1 December 2024.
The Met Service is urging all marine interests to “monitor nearshore, coastal sea conditions and exercise caution along identified areas”, as well as to “limit nearshore marine activities”.

The advisory explains:
“Long period north/north-easterly swells, in tandem with spring tides, will likely continue to produce occasional large breakers along northern exposed near-shore coastal areas. These swells can still result in moderate impacts along the affected areas and disruption to routine marine activities, especially at high tides.”
The Met Service is encouraging the public to continue monitoring official websites and social media platforms for further updates: TTMS at www.metoffice.gov.tt; and ODPM at www.odpm.gov.tt
