Investigations are continuing into the discovery of a human skull which was found on the bank of a river in Sangre Grande on Tuesday.
Acting on information received around 12.20 pm on Tuesday, officers from the Sangre Grande CID went to an agricultural property at Mandillon Road, off Junction Road, Sangre Grande and met the caretaker of the property.
The man then took officers to an area approximately 150 feet east of the said road, and showed them what appeared to be a human skull lying on the embankment.
Although the area was cordoned off and a search carried out for the rest of the remains, nothing was found.
Officers were uncertain if the victim was killed nearby, or if the skull washed up in flood waters due to the heavy rains experienced over the last few days.
Anyone with information are asked to contact the nearest police station.
