Police investigations into the bloody fight between two mothers in front of the Cedros Secondary School are almost complete.
A senior officer confirmed that both mothers had been interviewed and police were awaiting a medical report before deciding on charges.
Reminding the public of the TTPS’s zero-tolerance on bullying, the officer said parents must show better examples because they are always being watched by their children. The parents were called to the school on Monday to address a bullying complaint involving their daughters but one of the parents became aggressive and was asked to leave.
The situation escalated outside the school. Videos of the incident showed the barefooted women pulling each other’s hair during the scuffle and one of them attacking the other one with a cutlass while the other was bleeding.
The woman with the cutlass also had a glass bottle that eventually fell on the ground and broke.
A female student tried to join the fight but was stopped by a man who was trying to separate the women.
He also stopped another man from attacking one of the women with a car jack.
The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association and the National Parent Teacher Association have since condemned the incident.
