The Judiciary has designated that criminal matters can now be heard at the O'Meara and Princes Town court locations.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Gazette, on April 20, 2022, the O'Meara Judicial Centre at the Industrial Estate in Arima, was designated as a place for the sitting of the Supreme Court and Summary Courts and for the exercise of the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in criminal matters.
According to the Gazette, on July 5, 2022 the Princes Town Court—located along the Naparima-Mayaro Road—was also designated as a place for the exercise of the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in criminal matters.
The Gazette said both courts will accommodate matters entered or required to be tried in Port of Spain and San Fernando.
