Man arrested, stolen vehicle recovered after Arouca robbery

Of­fi­cers of the North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force quick­ly re­cov­ered a stolen ve­hi­cle min­utes af­ter a rob­bery in Arou­ca yes­ter­day.

A 21-year-old man has since been ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter.

Of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports say around 7:00 am on Wednes­day (Jan­u­ary 8, 2025), PC Rochford and PC Slack re­spond­ed to a re­port of a rob­bery in­volv­ing a white Nis­san Ti­i­da, which had been tak­en from the own­er at Ceme­tery Street in Five Rivers, Arou­ca.

The TTPS re­ports that the of­fi­cers, along with the 70-year-old vic­tim, pro­ceed­ed to Ceme­tery Street where they dis­cov­ered the ve­hi­cle. It had been left aban­doned on the road­way. There was dam­age to the ve­hi­cle’s front left side.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions led to the ar­rest of a 21-year-old man.

Both the sus­pect and the stolen ve­hi­cle were tak­en to the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion pend­ing fur­ther en­quiries.
