Officers of the North Central Division Task Force quickly recovered a stolen vehicle minutes after a robbery in Arouca yesterday.
A 21-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the matter.
Official police reports say around 7:00 am on Wednesday (January 8, 2025), PC Rochford and PC Slack responded to a report of a robbery involving a white Nissan Tiida, which had been taken from the owner at Cemetery Street in Five Rivers, Arouca.
The TTPS reports that the officers, along with the 70-year-old victim, proceeded to Cemetery Street where they discovered the vehicle. It had been left abandoned on the roadway. There was damage to the vehicle’s front left side.
Investigations led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man.
Both the suspect and the stolen vehicle were taken to the Arouca Police Station pending further enquiries.
