Forty-two-year-old Shamarie Forginie was denied bail when he appeared before Mayaro Magistrate, Ava Vandenberg-Bailey today charged with wounding with intent to murder. Forginie of Pierreville Mayaro and Long Circular Road St James is expected to reappear on January 10th, 2022.
According to police reports, Forginie, allegedly got into an argument with a 45-year-old man on December 10th. During the altercation, the accused allegedly armed himself with a kitchen knife and stabbed the man eight times about the body. He also allegedly threatened to kill the man during the incident.
The Mayaro Police Station was contacted and members of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded. The victim was taken to a medical facility, treated and later discharged. A medical report was produced on his behalf. Investigations were conducted by Sgt. (Ag.) Mohammed, Cpl. (Ag.) Dowarka, PCs Meighoo and Boodoosingh of the Mayaro CID leading to the arrest of FORGINIE.
