A young man was in­jured and robbed near a taxi stand in Siparia on Sun­day. The 23-year-old vic­tim told po­lice around 12:15 am he was stand­ing on the side of the road near the Fyz­abad Taxi Stand when a red car stopped along­side him and three men, armed with cut­lass­es, came out and ap­proached him.   Afraid for his life, he be­gan run­ning to­wards George Street. One of the as­sailants chased af­ter him and at­tacked him with the cut­lass. He suf­fered a wound above his left eye. The vic­tim was robbed of his wal­let con­tain­ing $300 and his Sam­sung A54 cell­phone val­ued at $4000.
He was treat­ed at the Siparia Health Fa­cil­i­ty and dis­charged.
