A man has drowned while on an out­ing to the La Ve­ga es­tate in Gran Cou­va.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, the man who is said to be a ra­dio an­nounc­er at Sweet 100 FM Ra­dio, was at­tempt­ing to swim across a pond at the La Ve­ga es­tate and en­coun­tered prob­lems in the mid­dle.

Those around the pond say he was sub­merged for sev­er­al min­utes be­fore his body was found mo­tion­less.

Sev­er­al per­sons tried to per­form CPR on him be­fore he was tak­en to Cou­va hos­pi­tal where he was an­nounced dead on ar­rival.
