A 56-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of 19-year-old Prince Charles, which occurred during Carnival Tuesday celebrations.
Shane Purcell, an auto-mechanic, of Sangre Grande, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Liebert in the High Court on Tuesday.
The next hearing date has been set for June 25.
Charles, 19, a student of the Sangre Grande Junior Secondary School, was fatally stabbed on March 4th, 2025, along the Eastern Main Road, Sangre Grande.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident by officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station.
Purcell was charged with the offence by PC Hardath, also of HBI Region Two, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on March 10.
