MIC Institute of Technology (MIC-IT) and Matura Reunited FC have entered into a strategic partnership that will seek to enhance education and sports in the eastern counties of Trinidad and Tobago.

An official release from MIC-IT says the organisation takes great pride in the collaborative initiative, which “is expected to have a far-reaching impact, fostering talent development and promoting socio-economic growth.”

“The partnership, known as MIC Matura Reunited FC, is dedicated to providing opportunities for youth to pursue Technical Vocational training alongside participating in elite football competitions,” the MIC-IT statement said.  “This unique combination will offer them a wide range of prospects for development and success.”

Under the terms of the MOA, MIC-IT will provide educational support, in the form of technical vocational training, while Matura Reunited FC will facilitate a pathway for young athletes to compete at the highest levels of football in T&T.

Now rebranded as MIC Matura Reunited FC, this collaboration will revolutionise opportunities for aspiring young individuals by offering a dual platform for technical vocational training and elite football competition.

"This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to empowering the youth of Trinidad and Tobago by offering them a holistic approach to education and sports," MIC-IT’s CEO, Anil Ramnarine, said at the signing ceremony.

His enthusiasm for the strategic partnership was echoed by President of Matura Reunited FC, Dwain Henry, who described it as “a significant step towards community development.”

"We are thrilled to combine our community and talent with MIC-IT to create greater opportunities for the youth in our region to excel both academically and athletically," Henry said.

The historic Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed on Monday 4 March 2024, at MIC-IT’s Head Office in Macoya.
