Crime was the top issue when the UNC’s Pavement Report rolled into Cunupia on Thursday.
Speaking at the Cunupia Market, Point-a-Pierre MP David Lee said “chaos” is everywhere in T&T. Lee said his elderly relatives from Diego Martin had to suffer through a home invasion when bandits pistol-whipped them and stole their vehicle.
He said “My uncle and aunt, who are dear to me, their home was invaded two weeks ago. The bandits came in at three o'clock in the morning. They were asleep in a certain part of the house, just my uncle and aunt, my uncle is 86 and my aunt is 82. The bedrooms were locked by a gate, the bandits, four bandits waited inside the house until they got up, until they opened that gate to come out in the kitchen. My aunt was still asleep and they hit her with a gun on her head.”
MP Lee lamented that is the level of crime citizens are dealing with in this country.
