A 24-year-old man was fa­tal­ly shot in Mal­oney on Fri­day.

The vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as Nkosi Den­nis.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 2 pm, res­i­dents of Her­mit Av­enue, Mal­oney, heard sev­er­al gun­shots and up­on check­ing, found Den­nis on the ground bleed­ing from sev­er­al in­juries.

The po­lice and para­medics were no­ti­fied and he was tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal, where he was treat­ed but sub­se­quent­ly died.

In an un­re­lat­ed in­ci­dent, a 29-year-old man was shot in the neck and shoul­der in Va­len­cia and is still ward­ed in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion at hos­pi­tal.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 9.30 am on Thurs­day, the vic­tim was at a gar­den along Or­chid Dri­ve Ex­ten­sion when he was ap­proached by a man. An ar­gu­ment start­ed and the vic­tim was shot.

The wound­ed man was tak­en to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal.

A search has since been launched for the sus­pect, said to be in his 60s, and an ar­rest is said to be im­mi­nent.

The mur­der count now stands at 213, with the com­par­a­tive for the same pe­ri­od last year at 138.
