For a second straight week, there were no new deaths from COVID-19 in Tobago—and the island’s death toll from the disease remains at 287, as at Saturday, November 26.
That’s according to the latest weekly update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), covering the period Sunday 20 to Saturday 26 November 2022.
The most recent COVID-19-related death was reported during the week of 6-12 November 2022. At that time, the deceased was said to be an unvaccinated person. That death was the first reported in three weeks.
The THA Health Division report notes 10 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections was ten, as at Saturday, November 26. This represents an increase from the previous week (November 13-19, 2022), at which time there were five active cases.
In addition, the Health Division confirms that two patients—one fully vaccinated and the other unvaccinated against COVID-19—were hospitalised last week in Tobago. Between November 6-19, there are no patients hospitalised with the disease.
The Tobago COVID-19 update also reports that patients continue to survive the disease as five people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period November 20-26, 2022.
A total of 10,974 in Tobago have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020—up from 10,969 the previous week.
