Officers seize $890k worth of cannabis in Arima

Of­fi­cers from the North­ern Di­vi­sion have ar­rest­ed a man and seized a large quan­ti­ty of cannabis dur­ing an ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Ari­ma dis­trict yes­ter­day.

Be­tween 10:00 am and 1:00 pm on Jan­u­ary 9, of­fi­cers from the Op­er­a­tions/In­tel­li­gence Unit con­duct­ed a search in a res­i­dence on Bit­tern Boule­vard.

Dur­ing the search, of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered a black plas­tic bag con­tain­ing sev­er­al rec­tan­gu­lar pack­ages in a bed­room lo­cat­ed at the north­ern side of the house. The 20 pack­ages con­tained 10kg of cannabis, with an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $890,942.00

The items were seized, and a 55-year-old man was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion

with the find.

This ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by ACP Singh, W/Snr. Supt. May­nard­Wil­son, Supt. Eti­enne, ASP Ablacks­ingh, ASP Pitt, In­sp. Lewis, and W/Sgt. Ra­mai.
