One person was arrested and a firearm and ammunition seized by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise Port of Spain yesterday.
The exercise, coordinated by Ag. Sgt. Arthur, and assisted by PCs Beharry, Thomas, Ross, Rochford, Jameson and Wallace, was conducted between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
According to police reports, during the exercise, officers had cause to stop and search a white Kia Niro vehicle driven by a 28-year-old man.
The search resulted in one (1) Smith and Wesson pistol with an extended magazine attached containing 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The suspect was arrested in connection with the find. Investigations are ongoing.
