Tobago is reporting one new death—a fully vaccinated person—from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. The island’s death toll now stands at 265 lives lost.
That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Thursday 28 April 2022.
The most recent death on the island was reported a week ago, on Friday 22nd April 2022. A fully vaccinated person was recorded as the COVID-19 deceased on that date.
The report also notes there were 95 new positive COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours. The number of current active infections on the island now stands at 451.
The Health Division also is reporting that 12 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19. Nine of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while only three patients have been fully vaccinated.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 28 April 2022 also notes that at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 7,941.
