Attorney-at-Law, Gerald Ramdeen, will be holding a press conference today, together with parents of man who was being treated and held at the Transformed Life Ministry and Rehabilitation Centre.
The press conference will take place at the Conference Room, Cascadia Hotel & Conference Centre, Ariapita Road, St. Ann’s.
During the press conference this afternoon, the family in question—Mr and Mrs Berment—are expected to detail their experience with the Centre.
According to a release issued by Mr. Ramdeen’s office, the Berment’s son was one of the persons detained at the Centre.
The statement says:
“Mr. and Mrs. Berment will reveal to the media the horrifying experience they endured and continue to endure by the loss of their son in these most tragic circumstances. Mr. Ramdeen has been retained to represent Mr. and Mrs. Berment and will be disclosing the proposed [legal] action that would be taken on their behalf to secure justice in this matter.”
Yesterday a raid at the Centre, reported exclusively by Guardian Media's Lead Investigative Journalist Mark Bassant, saw police officers rescuing 69 people ages 19 to 70, many locked in cages.
A police investigation is now going.
