The Police Complaints Authority (PCA) has met with the Joint Business Chambers in to build consensus around workable measures to reduce crime.

The meeting took place on Wednesday at the TT Chambers office in West Moorings and both parties discussed possible areas of collaboration, policy, legislative and operational measures that can be implemented to support the operations of the police.

The Joint Chambers which include the American Chamber of Commerce, the Energy Chamber, the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the T&T Manufacturers’ Association maintain the view that crime, and in particular violent crimes, continues to spiral out of control.

The chambers added that it is the single biggest deterrent to investment in, and to doing business in this country and addressing it must be the number one priority of the government.

The Joint Chambers agreed that the continued strengthening of the PCA as an independent institution plays a significant role in the overall crime fighting strategy.
